2017 Be a Better Manager Resolution - Employee EngagementAre you ready to join the Agent in Engagement movement and have an amazing year! You can (and will) make an impact on your team members through your focus on employee engagement.  As the year begins, take some time to plan how you can better engage your team in 2017.

“So much depends upon managers. For example, a Gallup study found that at least 70% of the variance in employee engagement scores is driven by who the boss is. This is disconcerting because the same research found that about 70% of people in management roles are not well equipped for the job. This state of affairs is hurting not just employee engagement and quality of life, but also corporate performance.”1

If you’ve made a resolution to be a better manager in 2017, it’s time to consider 1) whether you are in the right role and, if so, 2) how you can improve your current management practices.

To assist you in your resolution, review this curated list of previous Agent In Engagement posts related to managers.

Take time to read these posts and identify some ideas you would like to incorporate into your daily practice. Start with a focus on implementing one idea. Evaluate your progress after 30 days (January). Once you feel that you are making progress, slowly add another of the ideas you identified. Keep practicing and applying each of them until they are second nature. By the end of 2017, you’ll have developed a more people-centric management approach and you will have reaped the benefits of better-engaged employees all year!

Which of the Agent In Engagement posts was most interesting to you? Which ideas will you try to incorporate into your management practice in 2017?
